The Real Mother Goose represents more than 1,000 professional artists,
designers and craftspeople from across the United States and Canada. A portion
of our inventory is consigned; some items are purchased outright. Although we
are committed to presenting the very best selection of contemporary craft art,
we are not able to accept many new artists due to limited display space.
If you are interested in participating in our artists selection process,
please read this page for more information. Visit one of our galleries or
carefully browse our web site to be sure your work matches the style and
quality we represent.
If you have any questions call our artists selection coordinator, Helen
Knaupp, at 503-223-3468, or send us a message through our artists contact
page. Helen is herself an artist and sells her work through us.
Submissions from prospective new artists are evaluated using many
criteria including:
- Quality of design, materials and craftsmanship
- Availability of display space for the work
- Conformity with our current merchandising focus
- Pricing and salability
- Ability to maintain consistent production
A selection committee of Real Mother Goose staff reviews new work on the third Tuesday morning of February, April, July and September. All submissions must be received before 5 PM on the day before the jury meeting.
You are welcome to send a few samples of small items. Samples must be picked
up within 5 days of our notification of the committee's decision. If you ship
samples you must include a check for return postage. The gallery cannot be
responsible for damage to fragile items or return shipping costs. You may also send us a cd, or a link to an online portfolio or website. Please be sure to include retail prices along with descriptions of the pieces.
Artists are contacted within 5 days of the jury meeting by mail or
phone.
