Oregonian Greg Hermens had been working with ceramics all his adult life, when in 1996 he was first
instructed in the art of warm glass work. Greg has been fascinated with it ever since. His unique vision of color and
design comes from hundreds of hours spent volunteering with local school children on art projects.
Greg's art glass is clean and brightly colored with semi abstract geometric shapes. The opaque and transparent
fields of layered and fused glass create an interplay of lights and darks within each of his pieces. The works are not
only durable but functional as well. Each platter is individually designed and a one-of-a-kind work of art.
