Kristen Jensen - Knitwear
Pennsylvania designer, Kristen Jensen brings both formal training and long
experience to her work. A knitter since the age of eight, Kristen earned her Bachelor of
Fine Arts degree in painting and printmaking at Ohio University. There she also did post-graduate
work in fine arts and earned a Master's degree in special education. For 15 years before she
became a professional fiber artist, Kristen taught learning disabled students at Athens High
School in Ohio, where she was chair of the special education department. During that period
she spent much of her free time knitting and painting. In due course she found a way to
combine aspects of painting with knitting, and to pursue her passion for art full time.
She launched Kristen Jensen Knitwear in 1990.
