artist. He uses wood from Oregon Alder trees, an abundant, rapidly growing hardwood that is incorporated,
bark and all, into his distinctive designs.

Oregon artist Michael Jesse's work features beautiful figured woods with natural finishes and
are built to last through generations of use. The rocker featured here was originally designed by
woodworker Michael Elkan. After Elkan's retirement Jesse Woodworks has continued to make the "Elkan" style rocker.
