Britt Rynearson
Britt Rynearson began as a painter and sculptor. At twenty, she began to work with fiber and traveled the world to study with artisans and learn techniques. Shibori presented a long and rewarding path, which Britt Rynearson has been on for ten years now. That time has been spent building a business, developing skills, and teaching fine art.
Britt's hand dyed and pleated scarves and shawls draw modern lines around the body. Using fabric, Britt Rynearson can paint a landscape that moves and wraps around the body; ripples, waves, peaks, valleys. These patterns come from her connection to the water. The movement of the surface of water is alive and indescribable. Britt Rynearson aims to achieve the same in her textile work.
The work is created at her studio with a small team of seamstresses and assistants. She lives and works in Washington state.
